Advance Base, a lo-fi electronic pop project helmed by Owen Ashworth (formerly of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone), has released a surprise album called Wall of Tears & Other Songs I Didn’t Write. The album features ten home-recorded covers of American folk & country legends John Prine, Lucinda Williams, Nanci Griffith, Iris DeMent & K.T. Oslin as well as Orindal labelmates Wednesday, Dan Wriggins & Gia Margaret. Wall of Tears & Other Songs I Didn’t Write is available digitally now with a cassette tape edition out in October (pre-orders include an instant album download).
