Advance Base, Claire Cronin & Ruth Garbus West Coast Tour Posted 23 Jan 2020


In March, Advance Base, Claire Cronin & Ruth Garbus are teaming up for a run of seven Orindal Records showcases in Washington, Oregon & California. Advance Base & Claire Cronin will also play a handful of inland shows on their way to & from the west coast. The full itinerary is below.

Wednesday single & video premiere: "November" Posted 07 Jan 2020

This morning, The Line of Best Fit premiered "November," the third & final advance single from Wednesday's forthcoming LP, I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone, out February 7 on Orindal Records. The premiere also features a music video directed by Wednesday's Karly Hartzman.

LOBF writer Kayleigh Watson describes the song: "Opening with restrained strumming and soft harmonies, the track strikes a sombre and vulnerable tone before slowly, subtly intensifying with piercing wails of feedback drenched guitars and powerfully intent drumming."

Stereogum also shared "November." From writer James Rettig:

"If you let the first two singles from Wednesday’s new album slip you by in the year-end rush, that’s OK — we all make mistakes — but go and listen to them now and then come back here and check out their new single, “November.” Their upcoming album, I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone, is one of my favorites of this young year so far, and “November” is a good indication of why. It’s pained and understated, all stretched-out atmosphere until the track clicks into sharp focus at the end, Karly Hartzman’s voice bleeding into the background in a truly gorgeous wallow."

Wednesday- "Billboard" video premiere on Post-Trash Posted 16 Dec 2019

I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone, the new album by Asheville, NC Southern grunge band Wednesday, will be released on February 7, 2020 by Orindal Records. This morning, For the Rabbits premiered the album's first two tracks, "Fate Is..." & "Billboard," describing Wednesday as "a band whose intoxicating qualities might be impossible to ignore."

Orindal Records is hosting another showcase spectacular at The Hideout Inn in Chicago, IL on Saturday, December 14! Ruth Garbus (Brattleboro, VT), Friendship (Philadelphia, PA), Gia Margaret (Chicago, IL) & Advance Base (Chicago, IL) will perform live, & DJ Golden Wilson (Gordon Ashworth) will be playing records between sets.

Plus, all Orindal Records titles that are currently in print will be available at the merch table!

Friendship premiere "You Might Already Know" & announce tour dates Posted 09 Oct 2019

"You Might Already Know," the second single from Friendship's forthcoming album, Dreamin', premiered today at Talkhouse. Accompanying the premiere is a personal essay by Friendship's Dan Wriggins about the enduring influence of New England folk singer Kath Bloom on Friendship's music.
