First, the bad news: Dear Nora had to cancel their east coast tour dates with Advance Base due to illness. A speedy recovery is expected, but a sudden case of vertigo due to a sinus infection has made it impossible for Katy to travel for the time being. Get well soon, Katy!

The good news: Moon Racer will now support the Dec 7-9 Advance Base shows (in Portland, Allston & Brattleboro) & Claire Cronin will support the Dec 10 Union Pool show in Brooklyn! You'll find ticket links HERE.

Bloodless by Claire Cronin is out now! Watch Marcos Sánchez's spectacular music video for "Feel This." Posted 12 Nov 2021

"Claire’s vocal seems to pool around you like a fog, delicate up close, yet somehow inescapable." - For the Rabbits

When she sings, you believe every word." - Pitchfork

Bloodless, the stunning new album by Claire Cronin, is out now!

Expanding upon the supernatural and metaphysical themes of Cronin's critically acclaimed 2019 album Big Dread Moon and her 2020 “horror memoir” Blue Light of the Screen (published by Repeater Books), Bloodless is a powerful work of haunted Americana by one of contemporary indie music’s finest singer-songwriters.

Like Big Dread Moon, the arrangements on Bloodless’s nine songs are stripped and sparse, Cronin’s steady electric guitar and spectral voice holding center as strings and synthesizers provide wisps of eerie atmosphere. The sound of Bloodless is both more visceral and more subliminal than Big Dread Moon, due in equal part to months of intensive home recording by Cronin and Ezra Buchla (Cronin’s husband and violist) and expert mixing by Deerhoof’s John Dieterich (who previously collaborated with Cronin on her 2016 album Came Down a Storm).

Stream Bloodless here.

Purchase Bloodless vinyl & downloads here. (Vinyl ships November 22.)

Listen to "Feel This" by Claire Cronin Posted 02 Nov 2021

Los Angeles-based writer and musician Claire Cronin has shared the third and final advance single from her upcoming album Bloodless (out November 12 on Orindal Records). Just in time for All Souls Day, “Feel This” moans at an eerie pace and beckons with a longing to escape the physical body. Under The Radar premiered “Feel This,” calling the song “a hypnotic reverie, a dense atmosphere that Cronin winds through as a spectral presence.”

Cronin shares:

This is the most vulnerable song on the record. It’s about longing to transcend myself and get out of my body. I’m reflecting on my intimate relationships in the context of this desire to self-vacate, and acknowledging that I can’t float away and be a spirit. I have to stay here and feel different moods wash through me. "I’m also thinking of myself as one of many people who want to transcend their bodies, numb out, or feel limitless — like when the lyrics mention the “gold, guns, and Vicodin” of America. The repetition of “feel this” in the chorus is an instruction to myself, where each “this” is a different feeling I have to stay with.

"Feel This" is streaming now on all digital service providers. Find it HERE.

Bloodless is available on "smoke" swirl vinyl, classic black vinyl & digital formats. The vinyl editions are delayed by a few weeks but orders are expected to ship before the end of November. Pre-order your copy HERE.

Claire Cronin also designed a special edition "Omens of Bloodless" long-sleeved tee that is available exclusively from Bandcamp. Each shirt purchase comes with a download of Bloodless. Order yours HERE.

Listen to "No Forcefield" from Claire Cronin's forthcoming album, Bloodless Posted 05 Oct 2021

Claire Cronin has shared the second offering from her upcoming album Bloodless,

out November 12 on Orindal Records. “No Forcefield,” according to

Cronin, is “about feeling lost and trying to read my fate in omens and

dreams. It’s about a relationship where both people are depressed. It’s

about being afraid of things that might not be real.”

The song hums on at a haunting pace, Cronin’s rich imagery radiating ominous: No forcefield / No headlights / I am fading in the dark / like a picture of the night / that’s pressed too far / past the outlines / It’s a mystery I brought / from another person’s life. In the recording process, Cronin’s vocal take was intentionally slowed over gently bursting synths — courtesy of guest players Ezra Buchla and Owen Ashworth ( Advance Base) — and the result rings like a summoning.

Find "No Forcefield" on your preferred streaming service HERE.

Pre-order Bloodless on "smoke" colored vinyl, classic black vinyl & digital formats HERE.
