Listen to "Century Woods" from Lisa/Liza's debut LP, Deserts of Youth Posted 05 Aug 2016
“Century Woods,” the opening track from Lisa/Liza's upcoming debut album, sounds of another time. That is not to say it’s
an anachronism. In fact, singer/songwriter Liza Victoria’s dreamy,
psychedelic folk fits in well with 2016’s class of forward-thinking Cosmic Americana troubadours.
So maybe it’s more apt to say that “Century Woods” exists outside of
time entirely. Victoria opens the song in a drifting, half-existent time
signature, her careful, close-mic’d guitar lapping gently like sleepy
waves at high tide. Her vocals reverberate powerfully without an ounce
of reverb. The song’s dry production—seemingly no overdubs or effects at
all—actually makes it sound even more mysterious: the magic is entirely
in her performance. Six minutes in, as the song’s jazzy,
Karen-Dalton-on-ambien melody begins to settle into your brain, it just

ADVANCE BASE- In Bloomington LP out July 8 Posted 19 May 2016
In Bloomington is a live concert recording from December 11, 2015, documenting a rare, full-band version of Owen Ashworth's nostalgic, melancholic bedroom pop project, Advance Base.
Drawing heavily from Advance Base's previous two albums A Shut-In's Prayer (one of MOJO Magazine's top 20 albums of 2012) & Nephew in the Wild (PopMatters' #1 Indie Pop album of 2015), In Bloomington explodes the claustrophobia of Ashworth's (mostly) solo, lo-fi, drum-machine-accompanied home recordings into something grand, human & joyous, captured in glorious high fidelity.
"Oops" bundle sale Posted 29 Apr 2016
Every once in a while, I'll make a mistake & I'll pack the wrong order, or I'll pack two of the same order, & I'll find myself with a perfectly fine little package with no one to send it to. Not wanting to waste the packing materials, I'll usually let these unwanted packages sit around the office, in hopes that someone might eventually order their exact contents. Sometimes, the coincidence just never happens & I'll find that months have passed & these accidental time capsules are just gathering dust. So, I figured, why not just put them on sale? The savings are yours to keep.
Is it possible these packages also contain thank you notes to people who are not you? Yes, it's possible.
